Valentine’s Day was coming up. It was a tradition for the girls to give chocolate to those they liked. The boys would wait eagerly for the girls to give them the chocolate secretly or in person. The boys would have their locker open so that it was easier for the girls to stick the chocolate inside.
Shindong sighed. Valentine’s Day was just any other day for a person like him…except it hurt whenever people around him got chocolate.
“Shindong! Why the long face?” Yesung asked.
“Valentine’s Day is coming up.”
“Oh so…what’s wrong?”
“I won’t get any chocolate.”
“Shut up Yesung. There’s always a girl that secretly gives you chocolate. You just throw it away so that I won’t see it. I appreciate it, but no use hiding it.” Shindong sighed and put his head down on the desk.
Yesung stared at Shindong. If only there was a way for a him to get chocolate without making it seem pitiful.
It was midnight and Valentine’s Day was tomorrow. Yesung decided he would make some chocolate for Shindong and stick it in his locker. He went into the kitchen and found Shindong in there. He hid behind the doorway and saw Shindong in an apron. What was he doing in the middle of the night?
Yesung saw Shindong pulling a tray out of the oven filled with chocolate chip cookies and chocolate. He poured it into a red bag and tied a blue bow to it. He then scribbled something on there.
Was he giving it to someone?
Shindong cleaned up the room and hung the apron on a rack. He stretched and headed out of the kitchen through the other doorway. Yesung kept quiet until he was nowhere to be seen. He crept inside. Time to bake some chocolate brownies.
“Yesung, some girl told me to give this to you. She was too shy so she asked me to do her a favor.”
“Oh, thanks.” Yesung smiled.
Shindong handed him the red bag. Yesung looked at it…it was the same one that Shindong made…
Yesung looked up at Shindong. So all this time…Shindong was actually the mysterious girl…
“Aren’t you happy a girl gave you chocolate?” Shindong smiled brightly.
“Yes! Very happy. Thank you Shindong for delivering it.” Yesung gave Shindong a hug.
“Did you check you locker yet?” Yesung asked.
“There’s no point…no one gave…” Shindong’s eyes widened. Inside was chocolate brownies that Yesung had made.
“I got chocolate!” Shindong shouted and ran off cheering.
Yesung smiled. “Happy Valentine’s Day Shindong.”
Yesung took a bite of his chocolate cookie. It’s sweet and warm…just like Shindong’s heart.
